MD Lash Factor welcomes you “to a new generation of eyelash” in its Facebook page, but is it really faithful to its promises of longer, fuller, and thicker eyelash in as short as a week’s time?

Dr. Susan Lin formulated this “cosmetic breakthrough” – part of a whole line of cosmetic and skin care products – and touts its cytokine complex, derived from milk and composed of proteins that transport signals between cells. A peptide additive is also deemed instrumental in protecting the eyelashes from breakage and ultraviolet (UV) damage. According to its manufacturers, use MD Lash Factor for four weeks and see up to a 40% increase in eyelash length.

For accuracy’s sake, though, let’s not call it an eyelash growth product – MD Lash Factor explicitly states on its website that it does not promote eyelash growth. Eyelash condition is more like it: MD Lash Factor aims to promote a fuller lash appearance when applied religiously every night.

We don’t doubt that MD Lash Factor is the handiwork of a trained professional; it was, in fact, launched at the American Academy of Dermatology. But we suspect that this eyelash product falls a little short of greatness, with eyelash growth seekers posting underwhelmed to neutral opinions of the product (too meek a formulation, perhaps?) Among its greatest setbacks is the Australian product safety recall, which particularly points to its prostaglandin content. Prostaglandins are prescription-based, thus such products can only be technically used under medical supervision. And while we applaud its every intention, we’d like to ask MD Lash Factor why the super pricey product for little results?
